CGF Industries, Inc. has a long, storied and prosperous history as a privately owned holding company headquartered in Kansas. Established in its original form as GNC Grain Co. in 1947, the company was founded as a partnership by Ray Garvey, his two sons, Willard and James, and his two sons-in-law, Dick Cochener and George Lincoln. The company was initially interests in farming and successfully built grain elevators across the Midwest.
The entity known today as CGF Industries, Inc, has evolved through the years under various corporate structures and names, with a history of investments in a wide variety of industries; Farming(Garvey Farms), Grain storage(CNG Grain & CGF Grain Co) Oil & Gas (Petroleum inc. & Energy Mfg), Commercial and residential real estate and building (building Inc.), Photography and photo processes(Norling Studios, Inc. & Color Control, Inc), Hotels (Bellevue & Portland Hotel Assoc., & Inn Ventures) and Manufacturing (Dunbarton Corp. & nulyne Inc.) amoung others.
